Strandberg Family Tree
Regression information
From the regressions, I knew some things about Ida’s family. I knew her father died shortly before 1912. I knew she had a brother named Gustaf who was likely her age. I knew she had a sister named Saida that was a few years younger than her. I knew she lived in Finland close to the water, far from others.
Ancestry.com information
Doing some research on ancestry.com, I was able to build a digital tree for Ida’s family and collect documents. I discovered that Ida’s father, Johan passed away in 1911. Gustaf was born one year before Ida. Saida was born four years after Ida. I traced the family back to Godby, Finland which does have the hills and a “harbor” that I saw in my regression. (See the last page) According to Gustaf’s draft records, he is recorded as having gray eyes as well. The nose that Gustaf and Saida have matches Ida’s nose in my regressions.
Mixed Matched Information
With the amount of information that I got right from my regressions, I also got some things wrong.
I found that Johan was married before he met Ida’s mother, Beata. The first wife Helena had a son named Johan but the records of them vanish at the time of baby Johan’s birth. According to other member’s digital trees, Beata bore a total of six children. Johan Jr (2.0?), Gustaf, Ida, Selma, Saida, Anna in order. If Ida had so many other siblings, they should have been in my regressions.
